How to get here

Directions and address
The easiest way to get here is via public transport. We are only a few minutes away on foot from two stations – U St. Pauli (Line U3) and S Reeperbahn (Line S1 and S3).

Where to park
You can find car parks under the Spielbudenplatz, and you will find the entrances in front of the "Operettenhaus". Further car parks are available at the high-rise "Dancing Towers", and at the "Millerntor" high-rise tower.

ENTRANCE FEE

Payment methods
You can pay with either cash, credit cards or an EC card.

Audio guide
You can hire out an audio guide at the main desk free of charge (based on availability, no legal claim), available in either German or English. You will hear a good deal of interesting information as well as historical facts and music, and there are also a few little anecdotes about each of the people depicted and some details about their wax figure.

Cloakroom
The Panoptikum does not have any cloakroom facilities or lockers.

Online tickets
You can book tickets online: Book here online tickets for Panoptikum!

Ticket vouchers
You can order ticket vouchers in our online shop.
These are valid for an unlimited period of time and not tied to a particular person or date.

ACCESSIBILITY

Visitors with a disability pass
If there is a "B" indicated on your disability pass, then you may bring an accompanying person with you free of charge.

Wheelchairs
The Panoptikum has several staircases and is therefore only suitable for wheelchair users to a limited extent. If you are able to negotiate three steps, however, then you will be able to move around freely in the entrance area. Wheelchair users are permitted free entry to the Panoptikum.

Visitors with a visual impairment
If you wish to visit the Panoptikum with a person with a visual impairment, please register in advance via our contact form so that we can arrange to have someone available to accompany you. We can then allow the visitors with a visual disability to carefully touch and feel the wax figures.

Prams and Buggys
Prams and Buggys can be left at the main desk. As there a number of staircases within the Panoptikum, we would recommend that you leave your pushchair at the main desk.

YOUR VISIT

A visit to the Panoptikum will take around 45 minutes. If you make use of our audio guide and/or our free-of-charge quiz and discovery tours (only available in German), the length of the visit will probably extend to around 90 minutes.

Taking photographs and filming
You are welcome to film or take photographs in the Panoptikum.

Guided tours
On request, we can also provide personal guided tours for small groups up to a maximum number of 15 persons.
If you would like to book a group tour, please request this via our contact form.

Groups
If your group consists of more than 15 persons, we would request that you register your group via our Group Registration form so that we can avoid having too many groups in the Panoptikum at the same time.

You are welcome to bring your dog with you into the Panoptikum, as long as it is kept on a short lead.

Children
We offer free-of-charge quiz and discovery tours through the Panoptikum, especially designed for children and teenagers. These are available in German only. We have developed the "Pauli P. tour for kids" for children up to the age of twelve years. In our "Panoptikum News", young persons from the age of twelve and up will find a range of exciting questions about the wax figures.
You can pick up the quiz and discovery tours free-of-charge at the main desk.

School groups and groups of children
We offer two free-of-charge educational quiz and discovery tours through the Panoptikum, especially designed for children and teenagers:
The "Pauli P. tour for Kids" for children from six to twelve years of age, and the "Panoptikum News" for adults and young persons from the age of twelve years old. We would recommend that you hire an audio guide to help you go through the questions in the "Panoptikum News". You can pick up the quiz and discovery tours in the required number at the main desk.
